The mission of the Gage County Historical Society is to preserve, enhance, and showcase the unique history of Gage County by connecting our stories to develop appreciation throughout the wider community.
On March 18th, 2025 Gage County celebrates it's one hundred-seventieth anniversary!
To celebrate GCHS has designed a commemorative logo that will be placed on all documents relating to events, news, and advertisements for the society this year. We also have plans for celebrations throughout the year. This includes: trivia questions, a "Historical Passport of Gage County", which will allow people to locate and visit historical landmarks and events, and finally, our summer exhibit. We at GCHS are excited to continue celebrating and learning the history of Gage County.
Keep an eye out for our summer exhibit:
"170 Years of Gage County Through Photography"
Opening May 24, 2025, We will be honoring photographers throughout the county who have taken pictures of our history. We will also be honoring new and upcoming photographers as well. Throughout the summer, the historical society will offer photography classes and classes on how to preserve your photos. Culminating in our Annual Banquet with a presentation from a well-known Nebraskan photographer.

Filley Stone Barn Preservation Project
We have the window wells, the barn door, and the mason work completed! Thanks to our generous donors! We just have a few more mason projects on the barn to complete because the first time around they found a few more issues that need to be taken care. We also are raising money for our Cottage Hill Farm Outdoor Classroom which will be located on site. This outdoor classroom will be used for summer camps, Pioneer days, and other activities put on by the society. We are raising $26,000 for the outdoor classroom and an additional $2500 for the mason work. If you would like to donate to this project, please give the museum a call.
