   The Gage County Historical Society and museum is hiring a winter archivist intern, with a flexible schedule 8-20 hours a week. This internship is geared toward college students or recent graduates. This position is for 218 hours at $10.00 an hour. This position requires work on site, no work from home. So scheduling is dependent on how many times a week the applicant can come to the museum. Monday- Saturday are the days the applicant can choose from.

   The Intern will work with the archivist and the museum director in inventorying the collection of the museum and entering the collection into PastPerfect. The intern will learn from the archivist how to handle archives, accession of archives, deaccession of archives, storage of archives, and finding aids. 

   This position requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Applicants must be reliable and self-motivated with strong communication skills and organizational skills. Coursework or previous experience in museums, record management, or library science is preferred. Proficient computer skills and creativity are a plus. 

 

This position is temporary, therefore there are no benefits.
